Well, it seems the idea this idea has taken off. I have contacted the Lion’s Club PR Department to get some information on how to properly proceed and will let everyone know what I hear back. There seems to be international interest in this promotion, and the Lions Club is an international organization, so this seems a good fit.
May will be the month for collecting the glasses. This is the Lion’s Club’s “Recycle for Sight” month and hopefully we can can some much deserved attention for Blood Ties. We will be accepting prescription glasses and sunglasses, NON_PRESCRIPTION sunglasses and reading glasses. Surely, everyone has an extra pair of sunglasses they can donate.
I have modified the LC’s Press Release for our pruposes and will post when all details are final. If you know any media contacts we can use, PLEASE, send them to me!
I’ll post more details here as I get them, so check back !

Hello Fireflies..
Here if you need me! I am so excited this idea has taken off! This will be good press for Blood Ties and a help to those less fortunate. Blood Ties Fans are so generous with a wonderful “fighting spirit” to save this show!

As both a “Blood Ties” fan and a Lion, this is utterly, wonderfully fantastic.
If need be, any fans pledging in Central Texas please feel free to use me as a contact point for getting the glasses to the Lions.

This is a great campaign and it’s a win-win situation. I only have one question: Where do we take the glasses to? Are there donation centers? I checked on the Lions Club website, but our campaign wasn’t mentioned anywhere.
